Dream 7: Test Flight

2/10/14

This dream originally had a ton of detailed parts, but the only one I really remember is the one I'm going to write down. This part starts out in some house (I'm really not sure whose. I originally thought that it was in our living room, but, now that I think about it, it really wasn't). The room is kind of open aired, like a veranda, and it's kind of surrounded by all this garden like foliage. Flowers too I think, but the lighting is kind of gray and gloomy, like one of those days where there's a lot of clouds but hardly any rain. The veranda is made of wood, what kind I don't know. It was strong, but not regal; rich, but plain, and it was either the color of light oak or more tanish like plywood. I really don't remember. The veranda had a roof too, so that, plus all the surrounding foliage, gave it a kind of private feeling.
The inside of the veranda is the size of most living rooms, and it's kind of furnished like one too. It had at least one couch in it, maybe two, and enough chairs for everyone to have a seat around the table that was smack dab in the middle. It's made out of a lighter kind of wood than the veranda. I get the impression that it once contained some lighter kind of wood than the veranda. I get the impression that it once contained some light varieties of food, but the people sitting around it have just finished eating. The people are me and my family. I can't remember if my own family was there, I don't remember seeing them, but my Uncle Paul and Uncle Tim's families were there, and so was Grammy! I'm sitting on one of the sofas, while everyone else is sitting in chairs.
I'm not sure who brings it up, but they tell me that there's this high powered jet that's soon going to be put through a test flight. It's designed to hold at least four or five people, and it's purpose is to fly up and navigate through the highest atmosphere of the planet. Then they ask me to be the one to test fly it! My first response is something like, "Um, when you say 'jet' do you mean the one's with sharp noes and very loud jet engines?" when they confirm it, I'm anything but thrilled, but I agree to anyway because they asked, and it sounds important.
The next part takes place at the air port where the test is going to take place. Me, mom, dad, Dayna, and some other people I don't really know, are on our way to the place where we'll be competing to see who will be on the test flight, even though I volunteered, I still need to be 'okayed' by the people who are in charge of the project. Dayna's trying out too. I don't really remember the tests, but one of them was like this big, escalator wall, or ramp. It's slanted quite a bit, and we're told to run up it as fast as we can; the surface of the ramp is acting like a big escalator and is moving down, while we have to climb up. At the signal, we rush up it, and, after a little scrambling, I make it to the top first. The next test I really don't remember. It took place near one of those moving conveyor belts in the baggage claim, only there wasn't any conveyor belt. There were these two foot poles with red beacons on the tops that were stuck to the front of the  conveyor-less...whatever you call them. Each pole had it's own number, and they were separated by at least three feet. What we had to do was sit under one of the numbers while of the guys in charge of the project questioned or talked to us about some things. I really don't remember much about that test.
There might have been more, but that's all I really remember. In the end, I am nominated for the test flight, along with three other people. Dayna doesn't get to go, and she's a little sad about that, but I think  she gets better about it. I and the others then troop into the jet. It looks exactly like one of those super powered Army Jets, with sharp, conical noses and break the speed of sound. Except, instead of jet engines, it has this large, square like thing on its back that has jet holes in it, maybe five  in each row, and five holes high. It's from these that it gets most of it's power, even though it has two additional jet engines on it's wings. The inside of the jet is tan colored, and roomy enough, with bench like seats in the walls for passengers to sit on. The other people coming with me take those, while I get in the pilot's seat to fly it.
I don't remember anything about the take off. The next thing I know we're soaring high above the Earth's blue sky and in hat glowing blue aura that you sometimes see in pictures, which mark the farthest part's of Earth's atmosphere. The test goes very well; I'm able to pilot the jet without many problems, and everything goes along peacefully. Eventually we direct our coarse back for home and I fire up the back twenty jets and we rocket back towards the surface.
The next part is a little bit muddled, because I get the impression that me in the dream has been...well, dreaming herself, at least as far as from the training to the actual test flight. But, now I, in the dream, am going back to the airport to do the actual training and flight. I have Scrappy with me this time for some reason, dressed in his coat and harness ready to go. I carry him for the most part. Anyway, once we (other people who are trying out for the test) enter the airport, I start recognizing some of the training mechanisms, like the escalator wall, and the conveyor-less...pole numbered...beacon thingy... I get really astonished at this, and, when i tell the guy that all these things were in my dream, he just says something like, "Well, that's an interesting coincidence." Then I say, "I call it prophecy."
Then at this point, things start getting confusing. I think I pass all my tests, and then these people, who don't want me to go on the test flight, start masquerading as my friends and keep trying to attack me. The person they try to impersonate is a middle aged woman, but what they do is have three different people pose as her at the same time! They definitely look like her, only that the fact they are impersonating her three times kind of backfires because it makes me aware of their plot immediately. It wasn't very smart of them, I might add.
Things are a little chaotic for a while, but then I'm eventually able to pinpoint the real woman from the impostors because I took note of what the real woman was wearing, and, though all the impostors wore the same thing, they had certain, helpful additions. Like one wore something purple in addition to her outfit, while another wore something red; things like that. With that in mind, I manage to identify the impostors to the authorities, and they are arrested and put away for good. I then pick up Scrappy and leave, probably for the jet, and that's where the dream ended.

Dream 8: Carnivorous Plants!

2/27/14

This dream wasn't the happiest one ever. It had an oppressed, kind of 'fight-back-or-be-destroyed[ feel to it the entire time. I forget how it starts, but it jumps sometimes from our time to Clone Wars time. I guess I might as well start with the Star Wars part.
It starts out on a rocky kind of ledge, at might, high above a vast city. The ledge holds a small, triangular, one story building. It kind of looks like one of those Naboo ships, with a pointed front, only the back is more rounded and it's obviously a building. There are three Jedi waiting outside the building, under the pointed overhang, one of the Jedi is Kit Fisto, that much I know, and the other two I don't really remember, only that one was a girl, with pink hair and white face that was streaked rose pink like her hair. She is obviously an alien. They're waiting outside this place because it's the hideout of General Grievous, and their waiting to catch him. Only, their not hiding or anything, their just waiting like they would for a bus. They're also trying to figure out if Grievous is already in the fort or not. They  are eventually convinced that he is already in the fort or not. They are eventually convinced that he is, due to the fact that his speeder is on the premises, and they go in. Only, I think the bad guys know that their coming, and planted that speeder there to drive them into a trap, only it's never sprung. It continues on with the Jedi sneaking down hallways and taking out a few guards (sometimes getting into open fights to do so), but I never found out if they found Grievous or not, because that part of the dream stops.
The next part jumps to our time period, at our house. Only, for some odd reason, our house has kind of an apartment feel to it, even though it's obviously still a house. Things aren't going too well, because I think there's a famine going on in America, or a major foot shortage, like a blight. Because of that, the Government is handing out special seeds to everyone. They say that if they plant them near their houses, the seeds will grow food for them until the crisis passes. A lot of people buy into that, and plant the seeds. Me and my family are only ones who don't do it.
Eventually, the plants grow, but they are definitely not food plants. They're carnivorous plants! They have two jaws, but they don't look like Venus Flytraps. They're more oval, if  you get my meaning. They don't have any eyes or teeth, they're heads are about the size of a Great Peraniese dog, and their long stalks act more like necks. They grow until their taller than houses, and there are only two to each house. And they have lizard like red tongues. What the plants do is break into the houses they were planted nearby, (either through the windows or the walls) but they don't attack, they just lie down and wait in plain view until someone comes to investigate, and they swallow them whole.
Even though we didn't want any of the seeds, somehow two plants start attacking our house. One breaks through mom and dad's bathroom window and waits. We of course find out about it right away, and, feeling very fed up, I take a stick (which for some reason we have a whole supply of in this dream) and I use it to stab down on the plant's head, like I would with a sword. It's pretty gross, because the plant's head starts to leak out this icky dark blue plant juice, but it does die... right on the bathroom floor. We have to kill off a few more plants I think, but I'm not entirely sure. Then we all decide to leave home (where to I have no idea) since things are pretty crazy. We're all very sad about that, and it gets even sadder when, even though we can take Scrappy with us, we can't take Carson and Drew. We're packing pretty quickly because we want to leave that very same day, but we delay long enough to find a home for the cats. Missy Ruffin, our hip-hop dance teacher, decides to take them in. Only, for some odd reason, she's living in Grandma's house. In fact, Grandma wasn't anywhere in this dream. So we lure Carson and Drew to the house with cat food, and then leave them there. Kind of mean in my opinion, but that's how it happened.
By the way, I forgot to mention that, before we left, Dayna and I were in our room, trying to decide which stick to bring as a weapon, just in case we needed to fight. I knew it was probably better to take a smaller one, since they were lighter and easier to swing, but I ended up choosing one that was more of a staff. It was made of smooth, pale goldish wood, and, made out of the same kind of wood, was the snake that twirled around it until it's head was almost at the top. It was definitely heavier than most of the other sticks, and Dayna pointed this out to me. But I just said that I chose it because of it's symbolism, because it reminded me of the bronze snake Moses had put on the pole in the desert, when the people of Israel were being attacked by poisonous snakes. Dayna just shrugged, and maybe after that we hit the road, but I don't know because the dream stopped then. That's pretty much all I remember.

Dream 9: Meaningless or Meaningful?

12/30/14

This is probably one of the most bazar dreams I've ever had so far, and the craziest thing is that it tells just one big story. I'll try to write as much down as I can. I can't remember where it officially starts, but the very first part has me, mom, Dayna, and possibly dad in it, along with Lili Lowther and Tim Hawkins. This was the weirder part of the dream, and I doubt it has any meaning, but I have to write it down because it goes along with the story. Anyway, it seems like Tim Hawkins is putting on a show right there in our hometown, and, for whatever reason, he ends up in our house and takes a shower in mom and dad's bathroom. I'm not sure where everyone else is at this point, but I'm the only person in mom and dad's room. For some reason I end up putting on one of Tim Hawkin's rediculous costumes, a white robe with a gold sash and sun glasses, just as Lili comes in. She mistakens me for Tim Hawkins for some bazzar reason and asks me for my autograph, and, like an idiot, I play along and continue the charade until she leaves, and I don't tell anyone about it. I have no idea what I was thinking, or if I was even thinking at all.
The next scene takes place on the day of the performance, which seems to spread throughout the day in separate acts. We all stay for the whole thing, but there are breaks in-between acts so people can take a break, stretch and get food. The performance area is in a building kind of like a chapel, large enough to hold a simple stage and seats about a hundred people. The chairs were like the chairs in CTK. Anyway, during one of the acts, I begin to feel guilty for leading Lili on like I did, and start to get worried that if she very gets the change to meet the real Tim Hawkins, the truth would come out in a rather embarrassing way. So during one of the breaks I pull her aside and tell her what I did, but it turns out that she had already known from start! I  apologize and she forgives me, and me go back in to see the rest of the show.
Once it's over, Lili takes me on a kind of road trip (she could drive in this dream). I don't remember if we stopped somewhere, all I remember is driving and passing a lot of thick forests. The area we lived in had a lot more trees than normal. In fact, it sort of resembled a jungle. Anyway, once the road trip was over, Lili brought me back to the large van mom and dad drive in this dream. They've just finished loading the van with something they had just won from the performance. I never find out what it is, only that its big enough to take up most of the backseat and its covered with a black tarp, but there's still plenty of room left in the van. That's how big it was. It's at this part of the dream that Dayna seems to completely disappear, and a new character comes on the scene. I can't remember much of what he looked like, only he was big and strong and very large and intimidating sort of man, only he seems to be working for my parents. I'm thinking that he was a guide of some sort, which makes sense because of something that happens later. Mom and dad  don't seem entirely thrilled about whatever it was they won, and they jokingly suggest calling it Obama, but goodnaturdly.
Anyway, once Lili drops me off, I find that someone who looks exactly like me has been taking my place by helping mom and dad load up! And it isn't Dayna, by the way. Its at this point in the dream that I somehow learn that if you've been away for far to long, a duplicit of yourself will somehow present itself. I also get the impression that that isn't a good thing, because the duplicit gives off the sort of signal of untrustworthiness, and I also lean that their actually kind of evil. We then get in the van to leave, and since I have no idea how to get rid of my duplicit, she ends up coming along too. She doesn't say anything throughout this entire section of the dream. All we do is glare at each other. It's at this point that the dream completely starts to change its characters. Dad's look completely changes, and I think mom disappears entirely. I transform into a teenaged boy, and does my duplicit (looking exactly like me, of course), and our guide remains the same.
Suddenly we drive our van over the side of the road. I get the impression that this was the duplicit's fault, and we crash in what can easily be described as a dense jungle. It really didn't look like Charlotte at this point. There were vines hanging from the branches of trees, strange foliage all around, birds not native to America flying around (I think I saw a kookaburra once) and round yellow fruits that looked kind of like grape fruits grew here and there. Our guide spears one of these with an arrow or something, but I can't remember what the inside looked like. We all then start hiking through the forest, I guess to try and find our way out. I can't remember if my duplicit disappeared or not at this point, but anyhow, we suddenly stumble across some white eggs hidden under some ferns or something on the jungle (or forest) floor, but I never find out what happens because the dream then decides to take a completely different turn with a whole new cast of characters and circumstances.

I'm not in this part at all, in fact, no one I know is, which is kind of a good thing. Though now I'm only an observer, I follow the progress of a little boy with short blonde hair. The father's still the same from the last part of the dream I think. There's also an older man with gray hair who's either a pastor or a friend of the family, and a teenaged girl who looks a lot like Allison Reynolds who I think is the little boy's sister. I don't know if there was a mother around or not but I got the feeling that there was, only I don't remember seeing her. I think there's some in between stuff that I'm forgetting, but I do know that the boy is the keeper of a family heirloom, a gold ring set with a sparkly red stone with two small diamonds set on each of it's sides. It fits him perfectly, and, though old, it seems made to fit on his finger. I think he wears it on his right ring finger, because the ring will only fit there. Sometimes in this dream I'm only watching, while at other times I can feel what the boy is feeling, mostly physically and sometimes emotionally, although I never take his place or become part of the dream myself.
This part of the dream is quite a bit darker than the rest of the dream combined. There's this man who I think looks a lot like the father of the boy (maybe another duplicit, but that was never made clear). Anyway, I get the impression that he's related to the boy, I'm thinking maybe an uncle, but that's only mentioned like once. He seems to want the boy's ring, like, so bad he starts attacking the family in order to try and get it. The boy runs into a bathroom to escape him, which, even though it's attached to the house they live in, has windows that look outside. Why those are in a bathroom I have no idea. The boy hunkers down in the bathroom, locking the door and turning out the lights so as to give the impression from the outside that no ones inside, even though the door's locked. The man tries to get in but finds it barred against him. Strangely, he doesn't even try to break it down and enter by force, he just tries the doorknob a couple of times, and then leaves. I think the door was made of dark wood, come to think of it, in case that's important.
The boy, after catching his breath, then opens one of the windows and climbs out. Their house is surrounded by trees, not the jungle type that was left behind in the previous section, but normal. There's a great deal of dead leaves on the ground even though it isn't autumn. The boy wades through these until he's several feet away from the house. Then he uncovers a bike partially hidden under the leaves, gets on it and rides away as fast as he can. The dream goes on for a while with random scenes of him peddling down various streets and roads. I couldn't tell if it was a hint that he had been riding for days, maybe hours, but I did get the impression he was far away from the house. Eventually, the boy comes across a more populated and industrialized part of town. I can't really tell it it's a city or not. Suddenly, while the boy is riding down the streets, a large group of teenagers fly by on their skateboards. I think they were racing or something, and I get the impression that this was a gang. The main boy (no one in this dream had names),  since he's caught right in the middle of this rowdy migration, has no choice but to go along with the crowd down dangerous streets at breakneck speed to avoid hitting somebody. Even though he's pretty young, like maybe ten years of age, he rides that bike with skill before finally breaking away from the main group, but not before attracting the attention of the leader and another gang member, a girl with red hair and just entering teen years.
The leader is a teenaged boy with shoulder-length brown hair. He isn't exactly all that commanding, or forceful or cocky, but he still decides to make trouble for the main boy. The younger boy just wants to move on, but the older boy wants to fight first. Seeing that there's no real way out of this except to right, the younger boy does fight, and, even though he is significantly smaller than the older boy, he miraculously knocks him down and wins the fight through cunning and some clever tricks. All in all, he wins the fight, and no one gets hurt. The older boy just hits the sidewalk at least once. The girl was watching the entire thing, and, once its over, she goes to help her fallen leader up. While she supports him, since he's a little dazed I think, she turns to the younger boy and offers him a hug to show that there are no hard feelings. It's so obvously a trick that I have no idea why he complies, but he does and the girl and the older boy attack him and overpower him. It doesn't end well, and the boy gets carried into a nearby building, since all this took place on a street corner.
The scene then jumps to the inside of a warehouse or something, where the boy is like tied to this elevated table and blindfolded. He isn't treated any rougher than that, and anyway they release him in a moment. The rest of the dreams too depressing to write down in detail so I'll spare you the pain of reading it. In short, the skateboard gang are actually part of an orphan program that's trying to pair them up with  families and give them new homes. The boy's sister and that old man I can't place, who is apparently friends with the gang leader, come to the warehouse and talk to the boy, who's surprise to see them. The sister tells him that his ring is one out of four, the only one's in existence. They're then interrupted when the man who first attacked them arrives and starts to beat down the door. The boy runs away again, at the urging of everyone else, and starts to climb up to warehouse's roof from the outside, while his sister and the old man try to reason with the man. The dream ends on a very tense and fearful note that snapped me awake instantly. I didn't like this dream at all because it had a continuous feeling of fear and danger. I also don't think it has any spiritual meaning at all and is just a jumbled plauge created by my inflamed imagination. Although, then again, you never know.

Dream 10: I Don't Even Know

5/3/15

This was one of the darkest dreams I ever recall having before in my life, and I have had a few. The beginning is kind of weird, and I have to say that all my research on Helen of Troy for my essay must have helped influence it somewhat. Basically, in this section, I'm Paris and Venus, Athena, and Hera are trying to get me to pick one of them to give the golden apple to, only they don't try to bribe me. More like threaten my life and try to kill me as a group effort in a ridiculous way that wouldn't have killed me in the slightest. They put me in mom and dad's bathroom (in the bathtub actually) turn the water on and make it sound like I'll drown once the water level reaches the top, even though I clearly stand above the rim of the bathtub. It's stupid, I know, unless they meant that the entire bathroom would be flooded and THEN I'd drown, but I high doubt it. Anyway, after the bathtub fills up a little more than halfway, I just leave the bathroom and find the three creeps waiting for me, where they try the 'being nice' tactic. Like that would work now after they just tried to kill me? Yeah right. Anyway I get tired of it after a while and prepare to make my decision. But I never do because the scene changes, and with it the intensity.
I'm now me, and my family and I are taking a road trip to California,  which strangely only takes three hours. Anyway, one we get there, we spend the night in a flooded hotel. I think it's purposely flooded, making it sort of like a water park. Instead of walking we have to swim across the room. There was some kind of adventure in there that involved horses (I think I became a horse at some point) and something about Bigfoot? I really don't remember much about that place except that the water flowed, like a river, and even dipped in little hills like waterfalls sometimes, but I really don't remember what took place there. It actually wasn't as fun as you might think, at least, there was no sense of happiness or fun in it, and it mustn't have been very important in any case.
The scene jumps again to a different place. It's sort of a hotel slash airport, very fancy I get the impression. For some reason Frank and Joe Hardy show up briefly and from then on everything takes on a slight, computer game feel, but still very real life. I'm still me in this part. Basically I have a very nice room; it even has its own refrigerator and everything. But installed in the floor is a small metal circle, kind of like a manhole, and the manager tells me that if a power crisis ever takes place in my room, all I have to do is open it and the hotel handymen will be alerted and instruct me in what to do in order to fix it. Well, a power crises DOES take place in my room, causing some lights to flicker and maybe some sparks to fly. The intensity rally starts to pick up at this point.
Since things are starting to go haywire, I pull open the manhole and find a sort of dial in the similar shape of a compass, which I undoubtedly have to turn. The handyman then starts to direct me, with the use of a speaker I think because he never comes into the room himself. He basically tells me which way to turn the dial and how many times, but it's a very complicated and long process, and I can't make any mistakes or something horrible will happen. Eventually I think I manage to finish the combination and stop the crisis, but, the moment I do an even bigger power crisis strikes and i have to do the whole thing over again, only this time the solution is even worse. The dial is now replaced with the picture of a woman's face, with many small and confusing lines separating certain sections of it, and what I have to do is look at each side of her face and match up the sections that are symmetrical or something like that. It isn't as easy as it should be because the dividing lines make each side completely different. I try to use an instruction manual, but that fails utterly and time starts running out. Finally I try something and it proves to be a mistake and the entire resort blows up, starting with my room.
The scene then changes again, ad this one is the worst. I'm still me and I'm now in a sort of game arena with a bunch of creepy creatures. They're all drawn in Linden's style of art and are all cats, and other creatures she tends to draw, although there are a few people in it other than me. One of the drawn cats in particular is orange and has glowing red eyes. The whole sense of the place is dark, and those gathered, including me, are sitting on these platforms of different elevations and chuck objects that we somehow get at each other. They aren't dangerous things like knives or anything like that, but the moment they hit someone they kill them. There is some blood involved in this, I get hit and killed several times during this, but I always end up right back in the fight no matter how many times I die. Its also like I'm forced to be there and I can't leave or get out it no matter how much I want to or try.
Finally, after dying and yes, killing I'm sorry to say, I finally can't take it anymore and jump off my platform. I charge the cat (which has black fur now) and start trying to kill it with a heavy object that I repeatedly keep swing . The cat fights back by swing what looks like my fake white jewel on a chain. Since the weapon I'm using is heavy and I have to keep rising it above my head, the cat manages to strike me under my arm with the jewel and I die again, but this time I don't get transported back to my old in the arena, at least I don't think I do. I really don't remember.
The scene changes one last time. I'm back with my family, where I'm not entirely sure, either in the kitchen or back in the motel, which has somehow been put back together. Anyway, everyone is happy and having a wonderful time, and everyone, mom especially, keeps on urging me to do something that I can't remember. It was something like join in and have fun, or something like that. This makes me very upset and I literally turn to mom on the verge of tears and blurt out something like, "Mom, I killed fifteen people!: But mom just tosses her head dismissively and says something like, "That doesn't matter!" It's the carefree way she said it that leaves me a little raw even now, but that's as far as I remember the dream going. In many ways it seems to be repeating what I've been going through for days, but as to what it means I have no idea. I'm pretty much resigned to it at this point.
